Introduction

Hello there and welcome, this is whole new blog for a whole new assignment so keep your eyes peeled...

This new assignment is a Photoshop based brief, getting to grips with the world of Photoshop. The theme we've been given for this brief is 'Cyborg', I know, how cool eh?! I'm really looking forward to getting stuck into this one, I have no clue how to use Photoshop so it's a great opportunity to get that dealt with!

This blog is going to be really heavy with research and my initial and developing ideas/thoughts over the next six weeks.

I hope this work turns out as good I'm thinking it will be at this minute. The work will be displayed on an A3 digitally printed composite in uni, I'm not sure if that display will be just for my fellow peers or on public display?

For our initial research we've been told to take a look at:

• Walter Benjamin's 'The Work of Art in the Age of Mechanical Reproduction' 
• Franz Kafka's 'Metamophosis and other stories' 

Also looking at films such as;

• Terminator 2 (1991)
• Metropolis (1927)

The research for this brief looks like it's going to be quite interesting, watching Terminator 2, for academic reasons? Doesn't get much better =)
